Born from years of friendship, technology and purpose, we’re building AI medical interpretation so language never decides the quality of care someone receives.

Our Mission: A Human Story of Connection

How 15 Years of Voice AI Became a Mission for Healthcare Equity

Our story began in 2010. The three of us, Eyal, Moe, and Tomer met while working on early voice analytics systems. Over 15 years, we built technology used across regulated industries, call centers and enterprises around the world. That work taught us something simple and profound:

Language isn’t just a feature of communication.
Language is the connection.

In 2023, we turned our attention to healthcare, the place where communication matters most and breaks most easily.

Across the United States, 25.7 million people have limited English proficiency. Research shows that even professional human interpreters average around 75% accuracy, with omissions being the most common and most significant errors. The burden is enormous and the consequences are real.

But none of this prepared us for what we heard on the front lines.

Clinicians, nurses, social workers and community health leaders shared stories we couldn’t ignore:

  • Patients waiting 30–45 minutes in the ED for an interpreter while in pain.

  • A 9-year-old son was interpreting for his mother because the team was “getting by.”

  • A female patient was unable to speak about sexual health because the interpreter on the phone was a male.

  • Providers keeping the interpreter on the line for the next patient, just to avoid another long wait (and another high-minute charge).

  • Calls where the audio was so poor that half the encounter became: “Can you repeat that?”

  • Clinics pay heavily for interpretation services that make many visits financially unsustainable.

Behind every story was something deeper: language barriers disproportionately harm underserved communities, who often come to the system carrying fear, shame or a feeling of not being heard.

What we learned was clear:

- This isn’t simply a translation problem.

- It’s a communication problem.

- A safety problem.

- An equity problem.

- A human problem.

And it was one we felt responsible and uniquely equipped to tackle.

Why We Built No Barrier

After months of listening and shadowing real clinical workflows, one truth became impossible to ignore:

The interpreter model that exists today is financially unsustainable, operationally mismatched and emotionally taxing for everyone involved.

Clinicians were improvising and experiencing what many described as “language burnout.”
Patients often could not access care in a timely manner.
And health systems were paying more while getting less.

We knew technology could help if it respected clinical reality, compliance, privacy and cultural nuance. We partnered with clinical leaders to pressure test every design decision and ensure No Barrier fit real-world care.

So we built No Barrier to deliver instant, accurate, private AI interpretation that seamlessly fits into clinical work.

Because language should never be the reason someone receives worse care.
